I went to GFTS last May to time build and after researching different schools I met Victor who was extremely helpful and ensured my time at GFTS was first class. Great environment and great people. Would definitely recommend for students or for time builders.Posted on Google Jonah LoughrenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Have been renting with Global for a little over three years now. Great facilities, staff, and airplanes that are always well maintained. Prices are the best in SWFLPosted on Google Conor HardimanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I visited GFTS for four weeks to get 90 Hours of PIC time building in. At first I was unsure if I could accumulate those hours within the four weeks, however Victor laid out a plan with me. Everything is tailored to your personal preference and is extremely flexible. I flew a C150 and that aircraft was assigned to me for the four weeks so I didn’t have to worry about aircraft availability. Victor recommended getting value out of the hours and experiencing lots of new things, such as navigating different airspace, busy Florida comms, planning routes, taking into account the weather & TFR’s, etc. He encouraged me to push myself to absorb lots of new experiences which would enhance my skills and decision making for the ‘airline world’. I found this to be very beneficial. Before going I had very limited experience with comms back home as most of the airfields were uncontrolled. Most importantly he said the only way to do this was to look after yourself. Getting the right sleep, eating properly, hydration and enjoying the downtime and relaxing sets up the platform to be ready to fly and not to get fatigued. Bryan was in contact with me shortly before I arrived and organised the pickup from the airport with Gerry. One of the nicest and funniest people I’ve met. He made sure from the moment I arrived I felt welcomed and looked after. The apartments are newly furnished and spotless, located in a lovely area with every amenity you could ask for. From the swimming pools with free to use BBQ’s, to the social rooms with pool tables, shuffleboard, ping pong. It had everything. As well as being right near lots of shops, restaurants, and only a short drive from Naples and the beach. There are also two courtesy cars which the students use to take into the flight school. This is a good opportunity to chat to the other students there as well. I was flying with Kate for my ‘familiarisation flights’ to get used to FAA procedures and get checked out. She was fantastic and very knowledgeable as well about anything I asked about. As well as this she asked me what I wanted to do so it was tailored to me. Overall I was able to go to uncontrolled airports, towered airports, and do transitions through busy airspace such as Orlando and Tampa. What I liked was that each day was a new experience and something completely different so I felt like I was learning a lot each time I went flying. As well as this, as PIC you have to make decisions in real time by yourself which really help as decision making is key part of being an airline captain. Victor would check in every few days to make sure I was happy with everything, from the apartment to the plane itself. As well as this he’d check in to see where I’d been and what was different in Florida vs in Ireland. I was encouraged to take notes on everything and make a journal which is great to look back on and have. I was able to do a few trips with a few others where we’d all fly to places like Marathon and down on the Keys with breathtaking views and spend a few hours exploring. We also visited Crystal River, Venice beach, and my favourite flying into Fort Lauderdale Executive for the Inter Miami eastern conference final game. Being sequenced in between jets and navigating taxiways to the FBO was an awesome experience. Overall I’d definitely recommend GFTS. Whether it’s PPL, Time Building or Commercial. They have everything to offer, guaranteed weather almost every day and the aircraft assigned to you so you’re not dependant on other students. As well as this you can get it done much quicker than in Europe or you can go at any pace you want which is nice, there’s no pressure from anyone.Posted on Google RyanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My overall experience and the communication from GFTS was excellent from start to finish. Before travelling, all my questions were answered clearly and usually the same day. I was reluctant after a bad experience with a flight school in the UK, GFTS were extremely patient and understanding and I found everything was exactly as promised. The allocated driver, Gerry was waiting for me on arrival and made the journey across to Naples a hilarious and great first 2 hours in the US ! I was taken straight to the accommodation which is absolutely beautiful and a perfect place to rest and enjoy after a busy day of flying with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. There are two swimming pools, free gas powered BBQ's, a large apartment lounge with a pool table, cards, shuffle board, it seems like whoever designed the room thought of everything ! A fun place to spend an evening off or after flying with other students. The aircraft are comfortable and well maintained, with all maintenance being completed on site, any issues were addressed promptly by the onsite team. The whole team at GFTS from the student liaison, instructors, receptionists and maintenance team were fantastic people and made the whole time flying in Florida an amazing experience. Victor has an abundance of experience as a former airline Captain and took the time to reach out several times during my trip to make sure that everything was ok and helped coach and explain how all the flying and experiences I was having could be compared to the airline world and how these experiences can be incorporated in to airline interview preparation. I really do believe the school and the service they offer are one of the best in the world, I haven't been able to find anywhere else that offers the package they do and at such a reasonable price ! I would definitely recommend GFTS to anyone looking at completing their flight training or hour building out in Florida. Anyone visiting will have the experience of a lifetime and not look back !Posted on Google Stephen PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Having been to a couple of different flight schools across Europe i can honestly say this has been by far the best for many reasons. I am currently time building and with other schools i have been to i was just allocated the aircraft for maybe 2 to 3 hours each day which really restricted my ability to really clock up the hours. With Global Flight Solutions i committed to going to Florida for 2 weeks where i was given my own aircraft for those 2 weeks which meant i could spend all day every day up in the air if i wished. Not alone that but in the package i bought there was no hidden fees, the only extra payment i had to make which i was notified about from the start was the payment to the FAA to convert my license and the payment for insurance whilst i was there. Your package costs include your accommodation and your transport to and from the airport each day. The accommodation was in a beautiful part of Naples with all the amenities one could want. At this school i found you were just a number that comes in rents the plane and builds up there hours, it is very student focused and they really push the student to get the most out of their experience while at the school. Victor was always following up to see how your doing and what you can do to improve yourself and get the most out of your experience with them. I also met couple of lads from Ireland and the UK over doing the PPL and CPL and they just all talked so positively about their experience to date. The school itself was amazing, from the instructors, to the admin, to the engineers all were always on hand to assist you in any way they could. i honestly could not of asked for anything more from this school and would recommend it to anybody that is thinking on heading over there.Posted on Google Harrison PhillipsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. BEST FLIGHT SCHOOL EVER!!!!!! Great instructors, great learning environment, super nice staff, and the airplanes were kept in great condition!! Got my PPL training done here and was able to pass my Checkride first try after only two months!! 11/10 experience and would not hesitate one bit to recommend them to anyone looking to get their PPL, instrument, etc or time build for the airlines!!! My instructor was RJ, and he was the bomb!!! Great instructor!! Also airport was non towered and never busy at all, so it made for the perfect place to learn how to fly!!Posted on Google Conor NorthageTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went to GFTS in February to complete some hour building and had a very positive experience. Hourly rates for C172s are competitively priced. From initial contact, I was very well looked after by Victor and the team over in GFTS. Amazing accomodation and the benefit of having a car for easy transport to and from the airport is a massive advantage. We provided with great tips also for the local area and amenities nearby. Airport transfers to and from Miami was also a massive help. Florida offers a good mixture of different airspaces and challenges which is ideally suited to those hour building, operating in different ATC environments amongst commercial jet traffic and going to uncontrolled airfield certainly demands good situational awareness and flight planning. Weather for the most part is good and ideal for learning in with plenty of good airfields with great FBOs and local amenities if flying with friends and family.Posted on Google Adam WaleraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Global Flight Training Solutions comes second to none when it comes to hour building products in the US! Despite all the positive things I heard about GFTS I was initially apprehensive doing my hour building in a different country, on a different continent, in a very busy airspace. As soon as I arrived in Florida my perception changed. I was looked after from day one. I was collected from the airport by Gery, who dropped me right up to the luxury condo in Naples, where I was going to stay in for the duration of my trip. The condo comes with everything you need for day to day life. In addition to that you get access to a pool and a well equipped gym. All that in an area full of supermarkets and restaurants meaning that you’ll never go hungry after a full day of flying! The day after I arrived, I was introduced to a group of GFTS hour builders and students. Together we made our way in a courtesy car provided by GFTS. As there was quite a few of us, GFTS secured an additional car for us, an essentially a brand new Dodge Durango, that I got to drive for the entire month. What a beast of a yoke! The flight school itself is located in Immokalee, an uncontrolled airport about 30min away from Naples. The school has a few well maintained C172s and a few C150s. The school manager Tom is pleasure to deal with as are the GFTS instructors, mechanics and the admin staff. I was assigned Alex for my check out and he was by far the nicest, the most encouraging, and the most knowledgable instructor I’ve ever worked with! I arrived with about 80hr behind the belt but I was by no means a confident flyer, thanks to Alex and his instruction I was more than happy to venture out to the busy South Florida airspace. As for hour building itself it was hands down the best thing I could have done for my training. I was there in November. For the entire month there was probably two days we couldn’t fly, stark contrast to the winter weather back home in Ireland😂. I had a C172 all to myself, all day every day for my entire stay. This meant I could leave as early as the sun was up and could keep flying as long as I felt comfortable with. The flight experience you’ll get will be second to none! You’ll be flying in a busy airspace, sometimes controlled sometimes uncontrolled. In the same day you might go to an uncontrolled airport in the morning having to keep yourself separated and safe from other traffic while in the afternoon you might be going to an international airport with jet traffic in front and behind. Your aeronautical decision making will be tested. Planning is key! The highlights of my stay were my flights to Albert Whitted in the Tampa Bay and Marathon Key in the Florida Keys but you could literally go anywhere you’re imagination takes you! Finally you’ll get to have some craic on the ground! When you’re done flying and you still some energy left, you’ll find yourself exploring Naples and the surroundings with fellow hour builders and GFTS students! If Victor is around he’ll be taking you for drinks which is great fun! Well, for those who made it to the end of this lengthy essay of a review, I really can’t recommend GFTS enough. You’ll be looked after and supported from day one. The instructors are great and the craic is mighty. Whatever you might be worried about before you go over, Victor and his team have probably thought about already so rest assured!Posted on Google Sean FTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went to GFTS from Ireland to complete an hour building package of 50 hours over 2 weeks. GFTS went above and beyond from start to finish from airport transfers to the accommodation to aircraft availability and flight instructors. Couldn't have asked for a better place to complete my hour building. Highly recommended.Posted on Google Jack ParkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went to GFTS to compete my hour building. The whole process from start to finish was fantastic. I would absolutely recommend GFTS to anyone that is looking to work towards their PPL or hour building. My instructor Jacob was really informative and great to fly with from start to finish.
Great team of instructors & staff in GFTS and the aircraft were available all day every day. The FAA verification & check-out process was made very simple. The manner in which the aircraft were maintained and refueled after each flight seemed very professional andorganized.
Handling skills & aircraft familiarity – much improved landings, coordinated and steep turn etc. Also became much more efficient with use of checklists, preflight, and operating of different aircraft. (although similar each have their own quirks that was important to be aware of.
Every aircraft is treated like an airline whether you’re a C172 or B737. You can fly into a busy airport with airline traffic, experience approach control, change over to the tower, land and receive taxi instructions on a ground control frequency & be marshaled to a.parking tie down
